In the manufacturing world, many factors have to be taken into consideration to ensure successful production. Often, clients have concerns regarding different procedures. Here are a few frequently asked questions along with their answers.

R.S PCB Assembly’s core service is managing clients that have many PCBA’s with low to mid volumes. With an average of 200 to 400 different products built each year, R.S has a vast experience in keeping track of component databases, production schedules, and pricing. 

R.S has an in house team which procures all the components on the BOM, orders the PCB’s from several Fab houses, and lastly completes the assembly in house.

RS PCB Assembly’s quality of work has been accepted by many industry leading companies. We boast our assemblies either being sold to directly or indirectly to internationally renowned companies. Consequently,  RS has a made a name for itself in the manufacturing hub of Montreal amongst electrical engineers and is known for reliability in terms of delivery and quality. Our standard build is IPC Class 2 for all assemblies, but IPC Class 3 can be met upon customer request.

Strict measures have been put in place in the RS PCB Assembly house to make sure it meets industry required standards. These measures include IPC training, strict quality controls and most importantly continuous process improvement programs.

As for official certification, R.S PCB Assembly is currently working on acquiring ISO certification.

R.S has been working daily on improving their internal software and is working towards a fully automated system. At the moment, we have API’s connected with suppliers such as Digikey and Mouser, and we plans to add all major distributors and manufacturers. This provides visibility in terms of pricing and stock availability.

RS PCB Assembly has experience with all the different manufacturing fields thanks to the diverse manufacturing hub of Montreal. Although the majority of large volume production has shifted to countries with cheaper labour, prototypes and small volume orders are still manufactured in Canada.
